Community of Interest (CoI): Health Equity Impact Assessment

The purpose of the Health Equity Impact Assessment (HEIA) CoI is to build evidence on the effectiveness of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care's HEIA tool. Our goal is to increase the application of HEIA to reduce inequities for access, use and outcomes of mental health and addictions care in Ontario.

This Community of Interest is intended for researchers, service providers, policymakers and systems planners who are working on health equity issues for people living with mental health and addictions problems.

New members are welcome. To start a discussion, reply to a post, or share resources you will need to become a member. To join this Community of Interest please send a request to healthequity@camh.ca.

 Intro. to HEIA Tool

HEIA Champion Organization Health Nexus (www.healthnexus.ca) have produced an introductory video on the use of the Health Equity Impact Assessment Tool, working through the 5 steps and what to consider. A wonderful resource for first time users as well as experienced users of the Health Equity Impact Assessment Tool.

 Realizing the Potential of HEIA

The Community's first in-person event was a great success and our planning group is looking at the generated ideas and feedback from that event to see how we can best support the community.
Thank you to all of our participants.
